Leonard Breger (1920-2013), Who had early recognition showing his art at the De Young in 1962. He was a Bay Area artist & art teacher for over 60 years. In the late 60s he started producing "cut-shape" art which was sometimes serious, but often diverged into humor, or was both at the same time. His cut-shape mode went from abstract white pieces in the 80s to full color figurative in 1990 to the end of his life, with side excursions into other media. He married Beth Pewther in 1975.

"Find your own voice" said Artist/teacher Leonard Breger. His wife, artist Beth Pewther/a.k.a Liz Breger has always done that.
